Europass CV for students — Erasmus, internships, first job
If you're studying in the EU or applying to Erasmus+, internships, or your first graduate role — Europass is what universities and employers expect. Here's how to build one with a thin résumé.
Build my student Europass — FreeSection emphasis for students
Without much work history, the order of emphasis flips. Education comes first, achievements come from coursework, and CEFR really matters.
Lead with Education
GPA / final mark, EQF level, principal subjects. Add abroad-study (Erasmus) as its own row. Include thesis title if relevant.
Reframe internships as Work
Even unpaid placements go in Work experience. Quantify what you built, learned, or contributed.
Show academic projects
Final-year projects, hackathons, dissertations — they belong in Additional information with a 1-line outcome.
CEFR is your strongest card
Students often have stronger languages than mid-career professionals. The CEFR grid is where you shine.
Digital skills early
DigComp Intermediate or higher in Information & Communication is realistic for most students. Don't undersell.
Volunteering counts
Student union, campus radio, mentoring — all qualify as Communication or Organisational skills with concrete examples.
Erasmus+ & mobility programs love Europass
Most Erasmus+ host institutions ask for Europass directly — and almost all EU-funded mobility programs (Eures Targeted Mobility Scheme, ALMA) require it.
- • Erasmus+ partner-university applications
- • Erasmus+ traineeships (internships abroad)
- • EU institution traineeships (Blue Book / Schuman)
- • EYE — Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs
- • ALMA — disadvantaged-youth mobility
- • National-level study grants & scholarships
- • EU-wide graduate schemes (esp. public sector)
- • EURES "Your first EURES job" program
- • National employment agencies' graduate registries
- • Multinationals operating across the bloc
- • EU-funded research positions / labs
